Danielle Dennis MA, NCC, NCSC, LPC

Danielle is a license Professional Counselor and National Certified Counselor who is passionate about working with adolescents, adults, and families. Her clinical interests include supporting individuals navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, self-esteem concerns, and life transitions. She is committed to providing trauma-informed and socially conscious care and proudly offers an affirming and inclusive space for LGBTQIA+ clients.

Danielle’s therapeutic style is conversational, collaborative, and holistic. She believes therapy should be a space where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered to explore their experiences while recognizing their own strengths and capacity for change.

Her approach incorporates evidence-based practices, including Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and psychodynamic approaches when appropriate. Danielle tailors her work to the individual needs and goals of each client rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach to therapy.

Sheila Forestal-Gibson LSW

Sheila Forestal-Gibson. She is a licensed social worker with 20+ years of experience. Her passion is working with both young children and adolescents. Her favorite saying is that a dreamer is a doer in the planning stages! She looks forward to supporting you in your goals and wellness recovery and health! She is CCATP certified as well as having over 15 years of experience with therapeutic play and art.

Meet Your Therapist: Candace Johnson

I practice therapy from a humanistic approach, which focuses on supporting you with understanding and developing a stronger, sense of self, while building awareness of how you react to life’s stressors. I believe that people are doing the best they can and that we cannot shame ourselves into a better life. I love to introduce clients to how they can practice compassion for themselves and create more meaning in their lives.

My goal as a therapist is to help you use the skills you already have while learning new skill to find a healthy balance.

Candace is a Licensed Professional counselor who treats a wide variety of issues, including anxiety reduction, mood disorders, relationship difficulties, sleep issues, insomnia, self-esteem concerns, grief and loss, adjustment to life’s transitions, stress management, family conflict, anger and communication difficulties. Candace graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where she obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a minor and child and family studies. She then went on to complete her Master’s Degree in mental health counseling at Shippensburg University. She has been practicing in the field since 2008, and in previous years, has volunteered her time and services to multiple organizations, including AmeriCorps, Red Cross, and priority one. She also has clinical experience working in partial hospitalization programs, behavior health in elementary and middle schools, outpatient mental health facilities, and higher education.

I approach therapy from a humanistic perspective, focusing on helping clients develop a stronger sense of self while increasing awareness of how they respond to life’s challenges and stressors. I believe people are doing the best they can with what they have, and that we cannot shame ourselves into creating a better life. Instead, I encourage clients to develop greater self-compassion, understanding, and meaning in their lives.

My goal as a therapist is to help you recognize and build upon the strengths and skills you already possess while developing new tools to create a healthier and more fulfilling balance in your life.

As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I have experience working with individuals experiencing anxiety, mood concerns, relationship difficulties, sleep problems and insomnia, low self-esteem, grief and loss, life transitions, stress, family conflict, anger, and communication challenges.

I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, with a minor in Child and Family Studies, from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. I later earned my Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Shippensburg University.

I have worked in the mental health field since 2008 and have gained clinical experience across a variety of settings, including outpatient mental health, partial hospitalization programs, behavioral health services in elementary and middle schools, and higher education. I have also volunteered my time and services with organizations including AmeriCorps and the American Red Cross.

At Purposefully Soaring, I strive to create a space where clients feel seen, supported, and empowered to better understand themselves, navigate life’s challenges, and move toward meaningful and lasting change.
